A Tete-a-tete with Author Abhisar Sharma @ Espresso Grill…. An Event for Bloggers !!

Currently I am reading Zoo by James Patterson and my husband is hooked on to Edge of the Machete by Abhisar Sharma. We are a happy reading  awesome two-some.   😉 🙂

Saturday evening was well spent. Thanks to the good people from the leading and flourishing publishing house- WESTLAND INDIA who invited us to meet the Author Abhisar Sharma.  The author has recently launched his second book ‘The Edge of the Machete’. His first work was ‘Eye of the Predator’.

Date-15th Nov'12
Venue- Espresso Grill, Cannaught Place, New Delhi
Purpose-- Book talk over dinner!
Author and a few chosen bloggers were in conversation
organised by Westland India.

We reached there at 7 p.m.  The Author and Two bloggers were already there and I along with my hubby joined in too. A special, exclusive arrangement  awaited us. The ambiance was great. We were there to meet Abhisar Sharma, the author  and know more about his latest book ‘The Edge of the Machete’.

Let me introduce him in brief. Abhisar Sharma is a famous media person and has been associated with Indian television news industry for more than fifteen years.  To top it all, he has the highest award of journalism Ramnath Goenka Indian Express Award to his credit.

So I was glad to meet him in person.  🙂

He was gregarious and hassle-free. It was easy to strike conversation with him. Abhisar made sure he talked to each one of us. He told us incidents and memories related to his visit to Pakistan, his work and other interesting situations. The book reading was fun after all it came from somebody like him who is so good at it.

In Conversation With ABHISAR SHARMA

We interacted with him about small and big and extracted every bit of detail that we could ask for. He told us it took him around nine months to put up this one but he wrote his first book in flat three months. I am all inspired by this fact and wish to complete my book asap.  Also he has already done with his two other books ‘ The Dark Side of Me’ which is a sequel to ‘The Edge of The Machete’ and another one of entirely different genre.

CHECK OUT THE VIDEO OF THE BOOK. IT IS SUPERB!!

Confessions…

He was humble and encouraging as he confessed that he was not a great reader and also his work was mostly related to Hindi, despite of all this if he had managed to write books in English, then even others could do. Definitely inspiring for the newbies. If you have the will, everything is possible.

The food was inviting and the conversation over great food was all the more fun.

Meeting other bloggers, listening to them, interacting with new people gave exposure, added to my experience and sparked networking.  Met Arvind Passey Sir, Maryann Taylor, Yatin Gupta, and Shoma. To sum it all I had a great time.

Special Mention about the Espresso Grill and the Westland Marketing Team.

Espresso grill– A chic eating joint adorned with appealing interior and beautiful graffiti on the wall. It has an urban feel to it and it has delectable platter to offer. I loved the first look of the food. (See the dessert pic and you would know why)

CHEESE CAKE

Do check it out and hope you don’t miss grabbing a bite there, not in any case if you are anywhere around CP, New Delhi. I loved the arrangements put up by them. A special Bloggers Menu was up for us and it was handled pleasantly and with care making us feel pampered. Thanks to Mugdha Kalra, the owner of the restaurant. She was there in person and gave us complete attention.

Kudos to the Westland team. It wouldn’t have been possible without them. Thanx Nirvana, Sarita and Shalini.

The event lasted till 10-15 p.m. and then we bid gudbyes, not before having our personal copies of the book and getting clicked in a group photograph.

Looking forward to more such events!!!

Book Review would follow soon. Go for it. The plot is brilliant and whole experience of reading it would be thrilling after all it revolves around the lands of mysteries.

Happy Reading!!!

🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

  1. It was indeed a great evening and the book reading was awesome. Since I’m off computers these days due to a broken down laptop I could not blog about it. But, yes, you said it for us all. 🙂
