Sunday shopping without hopping

‘Nothing can beat my love for you…’ every women can sing it when it comes to shopping.

It happened last Sunday….

I was missing my pink floaters. I was extremely fond of them. They were extremely comfy and easy-going. I had buckled them so often that they had gone dead last month.   I needed to buy a new pair. And they had to be pink, I was extremely sure of this!

I remembered. I needed a few hand-towels as well, summers have stepped in. I am in the habit of carrying them in my bag and having them on my side of the bed always. I love the small handy towels, soft and snug they make me feel.

No-ways… I was not planning to drive to any of the malls, or Lajpat nagar, Sarojini nagar, G.K. market etc to pick up anything. Its a crazy-show on the roads these days and the markets buzz with crowds as if its all on SALE or FREE. And then we crib the economy is depreciating, the pocket-holes are increasing… then who is shopping in the markets… Its we, the girls, ladies, women, the whole of fairer sex…. I guess.. Nothing can hold us from splurging  😉

Before I could think of more, I was interrupted…. the phone rang…. it was a call from my chirpy and shopaholic friend. Wow! Great timing!! I so wanted to talk to someone, and you guessed it right, it was time for chewing in some shopping gyaan…  as usual Sunday evenings are not my favorite,  I was already getting drowned in the waters of Monday blues. The idea of shopping in itself is distracting.

We chatted and therein sprung the name Jabong, her new favorite one. She suggested me ‘to have a look’ and  and after the call, I actually spend hours exploring it. I am not new to online shopping but however I keep them to a minimal to prevent myself from making the ‘providing it all sites’ my default homepage. (Addictions catch on easy)  I wanna continue to live in the age of ‘touch and feel, try out and then shop‘. Also I am very choosy and fussy with my choice of colors. Sky Blue means a Sky Blue for me, not any blue!!!    🙂 😉

A few of my past extravagances have been…. A bedsheet from Snapdeal, a dress from Yebhi, Books from flipkart and Homeshop18. There have been experiences both good and bad but I must say online shopping is here to stay for long. Its a new mantra to keep us happy and smug even while working on computers. Shop after the long work to give a treat to yourself, motivating to the hilt it can be. No traffic woes and no parking troubles. A great way to escape from the heat and beat the blues inside the cool cabin of the workplaces or the cozy corners of our houses. Choices are just a click away and making payments is hassle-free.

So Jabong sounded interesting especially after recommendation, I began the hunt. New is what I always look for because I love experimenting. But at the same time, I take my own sweet long time to decide on things to buy. This actually pains me as well because many a times I just waste away hours without closing a single good deal and return empty-handed. That’s me, poor shopper!!!

I checked out Jabong with keen eyes

First look… it is just a click away…

  • The homepage was exploding with offers, shopping treats and discount codes.
  • It was all so vibrant and lively.
  • The first flashes were going ga-ga about the new arrivals and premium collection.
  • 750+ brands and 50+ categories to choose from.
  • To top it all, there were sale options not to be missed.

After twenty minutes………   Scrolling here and there… elaborately checking all segments related to women….. I could feel it….  🙂

I knew I had been attracted and hence I decided on a frugal budget of Rs. 500. This is because I din’t wanna indulge in anything expensive and also because of my last not-so-good experiences with some of the earlier shops. Sizes pose trouble and then replacements are always time-taking. Thus I intentionally planned to prevent my indulgences. I thought Rs. 500 would not get me anything more than two pair of earrings and I was not interested in buying accessories as I had grabbed a few recently.

However, the pink floaters and the hand towels were not off my mind… I ventured in the footwear section and guess what I see a pink floater that’s up for grabs. Its a look-alike of my last ones…they are two brands available but I go for Bata and ‘not a minute to waste I have on my sleeve’…

Before I head further, I make an account and its all easy and quick, absolutely hassle-free.

The pink and grey floaters were already in the cart and the good news is that I still had something left of 500 which could buy me a pair of hand towels…. Yeah absolutely.. I hunted for long making use of the filter from low to high range. And then after scrolling through numerous pages, I hit on the lovely pair.

I took an instant liking for the maroon ones, yeah the much needed hand-towels. Both of my buys summed up to Rs. 499.. I gave a pat to myself for achieving the targets within the frugal budget. This was an achievement… Once I had done the payments, I couldn’t wait for my orders…. I slept as an immensely satisfied one that night. However, the final products were awaited… the touch, feel, color , size, packaging are of utmost importance and were yet to be explored.

Next morning I got a confirmation call from the customer care executive. After my confirmation, she informed me of the delivery dates. The mail followed.

Both the orders were to be shipped during different time-lines…
To my happiness, the towels were delivered the very next day. Real quick, I must appreciate.
The cloth was of perfect quality, the kind I prefer usually, I loved them.
Now, the wait was on for the floaters… not to forget the pink one.
The floaters arrived after 6 days as promised. They were just too smart.
Now, pictures will speak for themselves….

THE JABONG SHOPPING

Thumps Up:

  • The packaging was nice. It was not messed up, nor tampered.
  • Good tracking system of the orders. I was sent messages both on phone and mail.
  • Trendy collection it houses.
  • Believes in taking Feedback from customers.
  • Living up to expectations.  ( For my 2 small orders it did)

Thumps Down:

Since it all turned out great for me, no thumps down as such. I do not need to apply for a replacement and the size is just so fine. However I wish the floaters should have been delivered in 2-3 days… but they had already mentioned 5 working days, so no reasons to complain..

Happy Shopping and Blogging!!

🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
