Yes! I love to speak my mind and I equally enjoy reading what others have to say about things, objects or people. As humans we can’t really survive without conversations. Don’t we all relish the Likes, Retweets and favorites from friends and followers? We absolutely do. It gives us a high. It keeps us motivated.
Honestly, what led to my birth as a blogger was my love to give my opinions on subjects of my interest. It started with my reviews on books and an urge to connect with people who adored them too. And today, I know a lot of bookworms virtually. They are people from all parts of the country and a few beyond it too. Having a common liking, taste, opinion actually brought us together. STATE.com is ideate d from the same school of thoughts. It aims to build an opinion network for the world. Through Blogadda, I got a chance to join this international platform, unique in its make.
In school and college it was Orkut for me. Later orkut died down and the charm for Facebook continued with its new avatars and its ability to help us track lost friends from near and far. Now, its no more exciting. Its the same people forever, the acquaintances and geographically connected people. Twitter has been a breath of fresh air indeed. It comes with no baggages. A hashtag brings people together either for or against the motion. And for the last one year I have been enjoying putting across my opinion in 140 words but there have been times when I have felt tweets restrictive in words. And also more than real connections, twitter has been more for the social media buffs and brand buzz. I have had a desire to express more. State.com indeed comes to offer us proximity/closeness on the basis of thoughts and opinions.
THE EXPERIENCE SO FAR…
The combination of red and black comes easy and interesting to the eyes. The interface is pretty and neat, absolutely free from hotch-potch.
My profile on STATE.
USAGE
I have played around the site for like two days before voicing my opinions of topics that have been in the news and close to my heart. Initially it takes time to understand and surf around the various options and subjects but soon its easy to make a way. On the right there are trending topics which helped me to begin. ACROSS STATE is also a great way to see whats happening around the platform. People across the globe have photographs, opinions, likings, disliking to share. For me it came naturally when I saw someone say something about delicious pancakes or the smelly socks. Since then I have had my opinions about more than 30 things. Gradually the interest has been growing. If one wants to restrict from saying much, you can always hit the button ‘Well said’ over the ‘ Respond’ tab.
I liked the concept of Tune in, thats the word which connects us with people on the platform to follow their opinions. STATE is the word on the top that instigates, pushes one to talk about anything thats in the mind. And even if you don’t have much to talk, STATE ensures it helps you with links, hashtags, topics, words to match and decorate the idea. In fact to keep abreast across the globe happenings, State is a great way to find out what people are actually talking about. For the first time, I was not dying to know what my friends were talking about because I was equally fascinated with others from different countries.
Similar sentiments about the smallest of things actually took no time to put us in the same frame virtually. Any link or webpage can be uploaded and an opinion can be put across to compliment or negate it.
The helping words or the prompts that one can tag with the opinions is one of best things that I found about STATE. There are words already available with the option to add a new word too. And below you can see one can see how many views have been in similar or opposite voice.
WHAT MORE IT NEEDS…
Increase in its users. More and more people need to discover it.
It should bring in more categories to talk about.
It should try and build forums around Hobbies or similar interests.
Just as it is now, keep itself away from branding and advertisements.
It should have something for everyone to enjoy and relish, voice around opinion.
FINAL VERDICT…
So far its been a good experience to use the site. To bond around with people all around the world based on common ideologies and opinions seems to be a great idea to me. Also I found it clutter-free in comparison to other social networking sites and it must remain so too..
